After running a 2500 mile week and you have health benefits you will be taking home about $900 a week and the benefit packages to choose from are not that great. While a starting price of about $40,000 was touted at the Cybertruck's reveal back in 2019, that price was attached to a single-motor rear-wheel drive model. Future drivers be very leery of this company. I stayed out for 2 months trying to make gains and for two weeks I had only achieved 1800 miles which waisted my time. Everyone will tell you something different. Also OPS and LEADERSHIP are not on the same page. Their older trailers need lots of repairs and their GPS locators are not working so the company has been relaxed on getting those updated. Also they don’t have the equipment (trailers) to keep you running. Then I learned that 80% of their freight is in the northwest. First I was told that I would get 60 cents a mile and then come to find out it’s actually 58 cents a mile because they put every driver starting on a default of 58 cents. This company does not practice what they preach. Biggest pro is they trust you to get the job done and leave you alone and also very good about getting home time scheduled quickly and accurately. My biggest complaint is a lack of understanding how their decisions can impact a driver's schedule and the snail's pace to get even the simplest issues resolved. Trucks are typically brand new Freightliner Cascadias with most of the bells and whistles, including a battery climate control system. Overall culture is positive and pretty hands off. I usually take home between $1,300 to $1,800 a week.

Pay is just okay, and the number of miles are average.

It makes it difficult to maintain a consistent sleep schedule which I consider the most important part of being safe and productive. If your next load isn't dispatched before the current load is delivered, there is going to be some lengthy wait times. No overbearing fleet manager is a big plus, but the automated dispatch system is still pretty buggy. Variant is implementing a computer driven automated dispatch system.
